What the Reference Covers
New York records access is not a single database. In Columbia County, the Sheriff publishes a weekly arrest blotter, the jail and VINE handle custody questions, courts provide the later case path, and a targeted FOIL request may be needed for a record or photograph. State custody belongs with the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision, not the county jail. This site gathers those official routes without presenting copied booking photos.
Information Available Here
The main record pages explain where a source is useful and, equally important, where its limits begin.
- The county records hub for the weekly arrest blotter, custody fallbacks, and FOIL process.
- The official distinction between a weekly arrest summary, a current custody question, and a court disposition.
- City-specific routes for Kinderhook, Claverack, and Hudson records.
- Official state, federal, and court sources when a county record is not the right system.
What This Site Cannot Do
This is an independently operated reference site, not part of a New York government office, the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office, the jail, or a corrections department.
- It cannot release, hold, transport, or transfer a person in custody.
- It cannot accept bond, arrange visits, or transmit funds.
- It cannot give legal advice or resolve a court matter.
- It cannot guarantee that an agency’s phone, fee, or web address has not changed.
Only the responsible agency, court, or corrections office can confirm current custody, a charge, or a release.
Search-Partner Disclosure
Some pages include a search box operated by an outside provider. That provider sets its own terms, results, and pricing. If a visitor later chooses a paid partner service, this site may receive a referral fee. That relationship helps support the site but does not control the partner’s output.
